Jelly Fish Girl: Concert Poster/Guitar Wrap giveaway
The guitar wrap on this one was very successful. A local guitar shop is even interested in sponsoring the next giveaway. I don’t know much about guitars but I’ve been told this is the nicest of the guitars they’ve given away. I was very happy with the way the colors turned out on the poster.

The Walking Dead Illustration
This was actually the start of a concert poster (inspired by The Walking Dead television show) that didn’t work out. Rather than let it sit half done, I thought I’d make it official by adding the title and posting it. It’s still in a state of unfinished-ness but I thought it was worth a posting.

Roctopus Concert Poster and Guitar Illustration
This poster/guitar wrap is the fastest I’ve had to produce an illustration. I was told one evening of the need for another illustration and had to have a finished piece done by the next morning. Luckily I already had an idea ready (sometimes that is what takes the most time) so I had a head start. I was kinda bummed that I didn’t get to spend more time on it, until I saw the guitar. It turned out better than I would have hoped. I can’t wait to do another.

Gator Guitar Illustration
I was asked to create an illustration specifically for a guitar wrap to giveaway at the World-Record-Breaking concert that was going on last week. Unfortunately one band was 15 minutes late for their set so the attempt had to be called off. I think they are going to make another attempt in the fall. Anyway, I was happy with the illustration and it sparked and idea to do a series of children and monster-animals. From my perspective the boy and the gator are friends, but it could be that the gator is protecting it’s next meal. I like that ambiguity and I’m excited to create more.

The Daylights Concert Poster
This concert has already passed but there were just a few things about it that I wanted to fix up before I posted it. There are still things I would like to change, but at some point you just have to move on. At this point I’m happy with the final result. Enjoy.

Another Concert Poster and Guitar Giveaway
I was really excited to see this poster printed and on the guitar. This concept is something that I’ve attempted to create a few times but could never get it to work. Finally it all came together. They did a great job on the guitar and I hope the person who wins it appreciates it. The look on the guys face who won the last guitar made my day, I’m hoping for a similar reaction with this one.

Elemental Concert Poster and Guitar give away
It’s been a while since my last concert poster so I was a little rusty getting this concept working. I think it turned out pretty great and the guitar looks wicked! So here’s the deal, Elemental is giving away the guitar pictured below to one lucky concert attendee. You can buy tickets at the door or save $2 and go to www.TheElemental.com. From what I hear they are going to do a series of these give aways at their concerts, each with the corresponding concert poster on the guitar. I really hope I win one 🙂

Oktoberfest Illustrations
These were two illustrations that were commissioned but for one reason or another didn’t work out and we ended up going in another direction. I thought they turned out pretty cool and it seemed a shame no one would ever see them. So here they are. Enjoy.
Riverhead concert poster
For this one I was asked to create a “Dark” vision for this poster. I was worried that maybe I took it a little too far, but I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback and I am thrilled with the result.
Muse Concert poster entry
This was my concept for the Muse concert poster contest. Sadly it did not win but I was very happy with how it turned out, so I thought I would share. Nuff said
Retribution Gospel Choir (concert poster)
Here is another poster that took me several failed concepts to get it right. I really wanted to play off the choir boy image but with a dangerous twist. Like an avenging angel or a spirit seeking justice. Anyway, it turned out pretty nice with great color splashes and dynamic action. This again is a bit of a style departure. It has kind of a comic book cover feel to it, but I think that works for it.
Gene Loves Jezebel concert poster
This was a last minute concert poster that came together really fast, after a couple of failed attempts. I’ve been trying for, at least the last 4 or 5 posters, to put a female into one of my posters but they never came out right. Finally with this it worked out (however the character, to some, seems kind of androgynous. thought the intent was female). Despite having to put this together in one night, the more I look at it the more I like it. It’s becoming one of my favorites (I know I say that about almost every new poster, but that’s good right? It means I’m improving with each one).
