Retribution Gospel Choir (concert poster)

Here is another poster that took me several failed concepts to get it right. I really wanted to play off the choir boy image but with a dangerous twist. Like an avenging angel or a spirit seeking justice. Anyway, it turned out pretty nice with great color splashes and dynamic action. This again is a bit of a style departure. It has kind of a comic book cover feel to it, but I think that works for it.

It’s got a really cool 50’s style feel to it. I like the subtle skull on his face.

It’s like he uses blood as his jetpack fuel.
I’m not sure if this was intentional or not, but his look of surprise/horror makes me think that this is his first time flying. And it’s not going to end well for somebody.

I was wondering when you’d put this up. I really like his mask, too.
