Concert Poster and Guitar Wrap
It’s been a while since I did a concert poster and even longer since it was used as a guitar wrap. Fortunately it somehow turned out perfect for the guitar. This is one of may favorite guitars wraps.
Album Cover for Natural Super Natural
This post has been a long time coming. I don’t think I’ve ever gone through as many concepts/revisions as I have with this project. I was dissatisfied with so many of the early drafts that I just couldn’t bring myself to push any of them through. However the result is something that I think is pretty cool. As a whole I think it’s pretty effective and when it’s split apart (below) It drastically changes the feel of each concept to the extreme Natural or Super Natural.

Halloween Concert Poster
This turned out to be the prefect poster for a Halloween concert. So we got to use it after all. If I’d only waited a bit longer to post it I wouldn’t be putting it up again. I loved the title they came up with for the concert and the whole thing seemed to come together much better than the previous version. I thought I’d throw this up here quickly before poster the new album cover which we finally completed. Stay tuned for that coming up.
Outback Flashlights: Defender Packaging
I’ve been working with Outback for over a year now but because of the sheer volume of work I’ve produced for them I haven’t posted anything. Some of it can be seen in the portfolio at my homepage jeffective.com but I want to try and post more of it here so that this doesn’t become just an outlet for my Illustration. Anyway, for each of their products I create a unique logo, Box Display, Ad Slick and Postcard. This Flashlight is a little unique in that it also has it’s own packaging. I was very pleased with how it all came out so I decided to start my Outback postings with it.
Orem Arts Festival poster
Elemental asked me for a family friendly poster for their set in the Orem Arts Festival. Somehow I got from the suggestion of “Monster Family” to what you see below. I had some other ideas of where to take it but I ran out of time. I think we’ll probably use this one again (probably for a guitar wrap as well) and maybe I’ll rework it then.
Elemental Single Album Cover
This was originally going to be the cover for Elemental’s sophomore album, but then time passed and the album name changed. So we decided to use if for the first single. The cover is inspired by a line in one of their songs “Let your spirit strengthen my sword arm”.
The Concert Poster Illustration that never was
So, I’m just going to do it. I created this poster last year but the fear was that it would get torn down from a certain local university campus. So it was shelved and another one created in it’s place. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to use it again and it just isn’t happening. So, I’m just going to post it because I like it and I don’t want it to get lost.
Muse (the venue not the band) Concert Poster
For this poster I decided to get back on track… by going off track and just doing what ever was inspired to pop into my head. You probably wouldn’t guess by looking at it but the original inspiration for this was the image of Luke Skywalker Running through the swamp with Yoda strapped to his back. I just thought it was a cool concept and it just kind of grew from there. I’m often inspired by something I see in a movie/read in a book/hear in a song. Although once it gets through the filter of my brain there isn’t much resemblance to the original inspiration. And that’s just fine with me.
Concert Poster and Guitar Wrap
I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to post all the things I’ve been working on. I’ve got quite a few posts ready to go. I thought I’d start with this one. This was one of the most difficult posters I’ve done in a ling time. I went through a lot of failed concepts and in the end I went back to one of the abandoned ones so that I could make the deadline. The concept didn’t particularly lend itself to a guitar wrap either and I was worried about how it would turn out. But I was worried for nothing. I really like the way the wrap turned out! The colors and texture go so well with the guitar that it’s becoming one of my favorite wraps.
Vulture Boy: concert poster and guitar
Here’s another illustration in the “kids with scary animals” collection. This was actually the second illustration for this concert. The first was deemed somewhat inappropriate for a certain local college campus and they were afraid the posters would get torn down. So I had to create this replacement at the last minute. The other poster will be used for a different concert, so I’ll post it when that happens. I’m very happy with how this turned out. I had my doubts as I was creating it, but I pushed through and I’m happy it worked out.
Cancer Song single artwork
This was actually a concept that I had created for Elemental’s upcoming 2nd album. We had moved past it long ago but I really liked it and felt it had it’s place somewhere else. When they told me they needed artwork for their first single “Cancer Song” I thought this worked perfectly.
Jelly Fish Girl: Concert Poster/Guitar Wrap giveaway
The guitar wrap on this one was very successful. A local guitar shop is even interested in sponsoring the next giveaway. I don’t know much about guitars but I’ve been told this is the nicest of the guitars they’ve given away. I was very happy with the way the colors turned out on the poster.
