The Concert Poster Illustration that never was

So, I’m just going to do it. I created this poster last year but the fear was that it would get torn down from a certain local university campus. So it was shelved and another one created in it’s place. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to use it again and it just isn’t happening. So, I’m just going to post it because I like it and I don’t want it to get lost.

I like. But I don’t get why a university would not like it. Because it has pretend creatures in pieces? Maybe I am ignorant, but why would a university of all things be against an artistic piece like this? Don’t get the controversy, think the art is great…as always!

The original version had some human looking parts mixed in. I altered it to try to appease their concerns but they still felt it was at risk. This particular University is very strict… about everything. To be honest I don’t really get it either. The posters I create are always so dialed back from what’s in my head in the first place that they always seem tame to me.

I don’t imagine that that would get taken down. I love it though. The body parts are awesome.
